Social Media Video Production Requires Authenticity To Be Successful

Social media video production definitely requires footage that is authentic to the business in order to be successful. Generic stock footage runs the risk of their being a perception gap that results in disappointment by your customers.

"We see all types of businesses slapping together social media videos in-house that do not use footage that is authentic to the business", says Rusty Squire, President of Sly Dog Production. Social media videos can really come in two forms:

  1. Posted to your social media page, in which case only existing subscribers will see it, and
  2. As targeted ads where you geographically and demographically target your video to your ideal customer who is not yet a subscriber.

"For the videos posted to your own social page I would suggest the goals be to educate and inform your existing customers", says Squire. He adds, "With videos used as ads you have to grab prospects attention and quickly tell how your business can solve their problem".
