Bozeman Montana Video Production Company Offers Marketing Agency Expertise

Bozeman, Montana video production company Sly Dog Production is known as one of the regions best video production companies in the northern Rockies.

"We began as primarily a drone video production company in 2013 because I had a pilot's license and that was the only way you could fly a drone for commercial footage", says Rusty Squire, President of Sly Dog Production. He adds, "We got a contract to do work for the entire California State University system and the Scripp's Institute but three years later they let anyone become a commercial drone pilot with the passing of a simple written exam, so that kind of killed it because over 200,000 people became licensed drone pilots".
"Sly Dog Production still does a lot of drone video today but it is a smaller after thought in creating establishing shots for our existing clients", says Squire. He adds, "Drones are great to a point but they cannot create an entire story with emotion, tight shots and super-slow motion, so they are just one tool in the tool bag".

"We then forged a real niche in real estate focusing primarily on multi-million homes and ranches", says Squire. He adds, "We still do some of this work for both Realtors and developers, but we aren't the cheapest on the block and we are definitely not the kid that works out of his mom's basement with a DSLR camera, there are a million of them which makes video today such a buyer beware market".

"We then started acquiring a large dollar amount of production cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, sound gear and started shooting nationally broadcast television shows", says Squire He adds, "We have shot for the BBC, FOX Business News, Military Makeover, Gold Rush, Designing Spaces and a host of other television shows".

"Our Bozeman video production work is primarily comprised of Montana State University clients, Bridger Veterinary Specialists, Citizens for Balanced Use, the Burton K Wheeler Center and a host of small businesses and real estate agents", says Squire, He adds, "Our statewide, Montana video production work, is comprised of occasional national television shows, real estate agents, the State of Montana, weddings and companies like Glacier Health".

"We also shoot education and training videos for online courses and do live streaming along with Facebook ads", says Squire. He adds, "The bottom line is that companies want a return from their video investments and we give them that".

"Customers often think video is going to give them an automatic return because it is now 84% of all internet traffic, but that's not true if it isn't marketed properly", says Squire. He adds, "Most people they'll go viral if they make something cool but that hardly ever happens, you have to advertise geographically and demographically target to get relevant eyeballs".

"Live streaming is going to start becoming more and more relevant in the world of COVID-19 and all of the fears that will exist thereafter", says Squire. He adds, "Businesses are going to have to re-think their business models to deal with the fact that customers don't want to deal with large crowds and this will affect professional sports, concerts, conferences and fundraisers in radical ways for years to come".

"One bright spot in this era of COVID 19 is that we are seeing some real success with short production, targeted video ads on social media", says Squire, he adds, "In the past week one of our non-profits that we work for on a monthly retainer for has seen $11,500 come in, that's pretty good in a huge economic downturn".
"Video is the most powerful marketing tool on the planet in 2020, capturing 84% of all online traffic according to Cisco Systems research", says Squire. He adds, "A lot of companies that haven't come to the table are going to have to step it up now to survive in the post-COVID 19 economy, it will never be the same as it was before this".

"We have an incredible list of Emmy award winning writers, producers, cameramen and sound engineers all at our beck and call", says Squire. He adds, "We also have highly effective social media advertising partners, so we can bring the full shooting match to the table".
